Softball Recap: Lanier Has No Trouble Against Chattahoochee

While Lanier put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Chattahoochee. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 15-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Longhorns needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Lindsay Sisk made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lanier got a massive performance out of Sanai Hampton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Hampton has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Carol Rubio-Hurtado, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Lanier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .897. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lanier's record now sits at 10-13. As for Chattahoochee, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Lanier wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Gainesville on the 7th. Chattahoochee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
