Baseball Game Preview: Canyon Hills Rattlers vs. Crawford Colts

For the second straight game, Canyon Hills will face off against Crawford. The Rattlers will take on the Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Canyon Hills took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Crawford 11-10. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rattlers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Taylon Sheriff was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Canyon Hills: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-10-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Elijah Shoate, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Canyon Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Crawford has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Canyon Hills, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-10-2.
