The Fort Bend Clements Rangers put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down George Ranch 59-40. Given Fort Bend Clements' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while George Ranch is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Divine Ugochukwu was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Mathews, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Fort Bend Clements pushed their record up to 21-0 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for George Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.
Fort Bend Clements is on the road again on Saturday and play against Fort Bend Elkins at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Fort Bend Elkins is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for George Ranch, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Bend Austin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Bend Austin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully George Ranch likes a good challenge.
