Softball Recap: Fort Calhoun Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Central City typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Fort Calhoun proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Bison 11-0. Considering the Pioneers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Isabelle Nolan and Emily Warfield did most of the damage at the plate: Nolan went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Warfield went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Nolan has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabelle Greenough, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Fort Calhoun pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Central City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-6.

Coincidentally, Fort Calhoun and Central City will both be playing Highway 91 the next time they take the field. The Pioneers will host Highway 91 at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bison will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
