The Rancho Bernardo Broncos typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Poway Titans proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 44-38 win over the Broncos. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Poway also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Poway got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ari Mason out in front who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mya McGowan, who scored 11 points.
Rancho Bernardo lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Claire Neidre, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Jones, who scored seven points.
Poway's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Rancho Bernardo, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poway will take on San Marcos at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. San Marcos will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 368th, while Poway is ranked 107th). As for Rancho Bernardo, they will head out on the road to square off against Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
