Foresthill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Selvester, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Selvester is becoming a predictor of the Wildfires' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't).
As for Buckingham Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.
On Buckingham Charter's side, Julian Gonzalez was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Gonzalez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Jack Pederson and Jacob Loos did most of the damage at the plate: Pederson went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Loos went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Julian Russell, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
