The Rolling Hills Prep Huskies will venture away from home to face off against the Peninsula Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rolling Hills Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
Rolling Hills Prep had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Rancho Dominguez on Tuesday. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Lobos. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Rolling Hills Prep let Max Sarner and Dylan Reasor run wild. Sarner went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Reasor went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Reasor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samuel Lopez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Peninsula suffered their closest loss since March 8, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of El Segundo by a score of 3-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brenden Jarrard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Peninsula saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mateo Carresi, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Ethan Son also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Peninsula's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Rolling Hills Prep, their win bumped their record up to 11-6-1.
Peninsula's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rolling Hills Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. It's a different story for Peninsula, though, as they've only averaged .362. Will they be able to contain Rolling Hills Prep's hitters?
Rolling Hills Prep might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Peninsula in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
