The Livingston Wolves struggled with offensive rebounds on Thursday (the Ripon Christian Knights had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Livingston lost to the Knights on the road by a decisive 37-21 margin. Livingston has struggled against the Knights recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kasandra Soria, who scored six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Livingston struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Ripon Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maddie Yonker, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Yonker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reagan Van der hoek, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Livingston's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. As for Ripon Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-10.
Coincidentally, Livingston and the Knights will both be playing the Yellowjackets the next time they take the court. Ripon Christian will host Hilmar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Livingston will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
