After a string of four wins, the Shelton Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Overton by a score of 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Shelton has suffered yet this season.
Ashlyn Florell was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals for Overton. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Florell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jolee Ryan, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Shelton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Overton, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Shelton will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Overton, they will head out on the road to square off against Elm Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Elm Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
