The El Dorado Cougars lost against the Woodcreek Timberwolves back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. El Dorado ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-38 walloping at the hands of Woodcreek. While losing is never fun, El Dorado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 651st, while Woodcreek is ranked 206th).
Despite the loss, El Dorado still got an impressive performance from Alana Schneider, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Schneider scored a full 42.1% of El Dorado's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
El Dorado has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Woodcreek, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.
El Dorado is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Galt at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Galt has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Woodcreek and Inderkum will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Inderkum is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
