Softball Recap: Kingston Has No Trouble Against Marietta

Kingston never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Marietta Indians 13-0. That looming 13-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Redskins yet this season.

Gracie Bridgman looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kingston got a massive performance out of Dextry Bowerman, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Ratzlaff, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Kingston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kingston pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Marietta, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Kingston will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Dickson at 5:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Marietta, they will take on Velma-Alma at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
