Carrabec hasn't had much luck against Richmond recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cobras will take on the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. Carrabec has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Carrabec after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 11-6 to Buckfield.
Colton Scheve made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases and two runs. Austin Sales was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Richmond put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Vinalhaven with a sharp 11-1 win. Fans of the Bobcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Cody Fournier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gavin Lincoln was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Zaden Steele, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Richmond's record now sits at 8-0. As for Carrabec, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Carrabec has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Richmond struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Carrabec suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Richmond in their previous meeting back in June of 2025. Can the Cobras avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
