It was a good run, but the Gridley Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Las Plumas on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin. Gridley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Las Plumas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Gridley still got an impressive performance from Brook Marr, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. Marr has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kirsten Muzzy, who scored four points along with two steals.
Gridley's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-12. As for Las Plumas, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-12.
Gridley will be playing in front of their home fans against Lassen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lassen is coming into the game with five straight losses on the road, meaning Gridley will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Las Plumas, they will face off against Foothill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Foothill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Thursday.
