The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Torrey Pines 58-26. While losing is never fun, Canyon Crest Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while the Falcons are ranked 309th).
Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caroline Dysart, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thrisha Boopathi, who scored nine points.
Leading Torrey Pines to victory were Averi Kwok and Lily Oliva. Kwok scored ten points along with two steals, while Oliva scored 12 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kwok has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grace Trusso, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Canyon Crest Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Torrey Pines, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Canyon Crest Academy has will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Vista's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Ravens have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Torrey Pines, they have won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Tritons at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. San Clemente will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
