It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the MAST Charter II Voyagers can now relate to. They suffered a rough 47-25 defeat at the hands of the Pioneers on Friday. MAST Charter II's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.
Frankford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Janeliss Laboy, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Laboy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leyshka Ruperto, who scored six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
MAST Charter II's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for Frankford, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
