Huss has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the North Gaston Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Gaston took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Huss, who comes in off a win.
Huss posted their biggest victory since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 59-23 victory over Ashbrook. Huss pushed the score to 55-16 by the end of the third, a deficit Ashbrook cut but never quite recovered from.
Savanni Harris and Brooklyn Swann were among the main playmakers for Huss as the former dropped a triple-double on ten points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists and the latter scored 27 points along with three steals and three blocks. Swann hasn't dropped below two steals for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Hoover, who scored ten points along with four steals.
North Gaston suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 63-43 loss at the hands of Crest. While losing is never fun, North Gaston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while Crest is ranked 202nd).
Jaleila Littlejohn put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 30 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Huss' win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for North Gaston, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12.
Everything came up roses for Huss against North Gaston when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 60-10 win. With Huss ahead 44-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
