The Rampart Rams will face off against the Widefield Gladiators at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, Rampart turned things around against Doherty on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 16-1 win. That looming 16-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rams yet this season.
Addison Jensen made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Lee, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August of 2024. Emilie Sklenar was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Widefield made easy work of Palmer on Thursday and carried off a 16-1 victory. The Gladiators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Taylor Hall was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Miaja Starke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Widefield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Widefield's win bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Rampart, their victory bumped their record up to 4-18.
