Rio Vista enjoyed a cozy 47-29 win over Vacaville Christian on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Rio Vista, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Rio Vista got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Destiny Lopez out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Lopez scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samiah Holley, who scored nine points along with eight steals and seven assists.
Rio Vista's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Vacaville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Vista will face off against Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vacaville Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Esparto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Esparto comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
