Armwood is 0-6 against Bloomingdale since February of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Hawks will host the Bulls at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Armwood will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Brandon on Saturday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Eagles. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Dichelle Walker looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She also allowed three hits, marking her first of the season.
At the plate, Tikema Jackson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing six bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Justine Smith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
Armwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Bloomingdale entered their tilt with Strawberry Crest on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They never let the Chargers get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Bulls have won by exactly 13 runs.
Natalie Cable was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Marley Boucher was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Arianna Cerezo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Bloomingdale's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Armwood, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Armwood hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bloomingdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Armwood suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Bloomingdale in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Will the Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
