The Caro Tigers will be playing at home against the Vassar Vulcans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Caro is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Even though Caro has not done well against Bad Axe recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Caro walked away with a 44-35 victory over Bad Axe.
Evan Langmaid was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Jaidon Buniack was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Vassar, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Reese on Wednesday.
Despite the defeat, Vassar got a solid performance out of Bryce Brown, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Madix Gorleski, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Caro is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Vassar, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Caro have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Vassar struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Caro against Vassar in their previous meeting on January 3rd as the squad secured a 80-41 win. With Caro ahead 45-20 at the half, the match was all but over already.
