Basketball Recap: Windber Falls Despite Big Games from Angel James and Kaylie Gaye

Windber lost against Berlin Brothersvalley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Windber Ramblers lost to the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers at home by a 55-36 margin. While losing is never fun, the Ramblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 71st).

Kaylie Gaye and Angel James certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Gaye posted ten points and five rebounds, while James had four points and four steals. James has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Windber has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windber will face off against Meyersdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Williamsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Williamsburg will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Berlin Brothersvalley surely won't give up without a fight.
