Masterman have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were the victim of a rough 67-47 loss at the hands of Audenried on Monday. Masterman was down 60-38 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
When it comes to explaining why Masterman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jocelyn Goldstein. Despite the final result, she scored 27 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Brunelli, who scored nine points along with three steals and two blocks.
Audenried got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shayla Smith out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Senaya Parker, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five steals.
Masterman's loss ended a 20-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-3. As for Audenried, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
Masterman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Audenried also has no future games currently scheduled.
