California City is 9-1 against Desert since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Ravens will welcome the Scorpions at 3:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Desert will take on a team with plenty of momentum: California City extended their winning streak to five on Saturday. Everything went the Ravens' way against Del Oro as they made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Ravens have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Aaroon Moreno was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Desert not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 26-4). They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over Frazier Mountain. The victory continues a trend for the Scorpions in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.
Like California City, Desert also got a great game from a two-way player: Landon Kizzer. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Kizzer is becoming a predictor of Desert's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Kizzer was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Alex Mendoza was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Desert: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Evan Dion, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-8. As for California City, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. California City has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Desert struggles in that department as they've averaged .459. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went California City's way against Desert when the teams last played back in March, as California City made off with a 20-0 win. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scorpions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
