Given Georgetown Day's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked first in District of Columbia, while St. Stephen's & St. Agnes is ranked 275th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Georgetown Day got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madisyn Moore out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Moore hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Chen, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Georgetown Day is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Georgetown Day will be playing in front of their home fans against DC International at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. DC International is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, they will challenge Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
