The Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles pushed their score all the way to 74 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 85-74 to Neumann-Goretti. Even though they lost, Conwell-Egan Catholic's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.8 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Conwell-Egan Catholic's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lily Milewski, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Brooke Mcfadden who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcfadden has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mya Aizen, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Conwell-Egan Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Neumann-Goretti's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carryn Easley, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists. Easley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reginna Baker, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Conwell-Egan Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Neumann-Goretti, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conwell-Egan Catholic will take on Pennsbury at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. As for Neumann-Goretti, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nazareth Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
