Millington Central had a senior duo take command as Bailey Boone dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds and Alana Whiten scored 18 points. Boone is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Holmes, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Brighton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Destiny Pruitt. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. Jayla Jones was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Brighton struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Millington Central racked up 18 assists.
Millington Central's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.
