Corcoran is 10-0 against Woodlake since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Corcoran Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Woodlake Tigers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Corcoran has 12 straight wins, Woodlake has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Corcoran beat Strathmore 38-31.
Corcoran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Katalina Castillo led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Luna, who scored 11 points along with five assists and three blocks.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Woodlake, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-32 loss to Farmersville on Tuesday.
Corcoran pushed their record up to 18-8 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Woodlake, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Corcoran against Woodlake when the teams last played two weeks ago as the team secured a 74-28 victory. With Corcoran ahead 41-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
