The Port Allegany Gators had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They took down Austin 54-35. For Port Allegany, this counts as revenge for the 45-31 loss Austin walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Port Allegany to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brynn Evens, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evens has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayleigha Dowell, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Port Allegany's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. As for Austin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
Port Allegany will be playing at home against Oswayo Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Port Allegany focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
