Elsinore was the victim of a rough 56-32 defeat at the hands of Ramona on Friday. Elsinore was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-11.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Iree Mativa, who scored 12 points. Mativa is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Miranda Garcia, who scored 6 points along with 5 steals.
Elsinore struggled to work together and finished the game with only a assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Ramona racked up 17.
Leading Ramona to victory were Jaiden Tibbels and Olivia Molina. Tibbels scored 12 points along with 7 steals and 5 assists, while Molina scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. The match was Molina's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Diana Najera was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 7 steals.
Elsinore are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3. As for Ramona, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Elsinore will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Tahquitz at 6:30 p.m. As for Ramona, they will square off against Vista Murrieta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista Murrieta comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
