Fairfield gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Vacaville Bulldogs. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Trustin Mitchell made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mitchell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mitchell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zach O'Reilly, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Fairfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Vacaville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-12.

Fairfield has already played their next game, a 9-5 loss against Davis Sr. on the 1st. As for Vacaville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-2 win against Laguna Creek on the 7th.
