Santiago is 10-0 against La Quinta since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Santiago Cavaliers the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the La Quinta Aztecs at 4:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Santiago came up short against Pacifica and fell 47-34. While losing is never fun, Santiago can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 841st, while Pacifica is ranked 296th).
Meanwhile, La Quinta fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Loara on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saxons. La Quinta's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Santiago's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for La Quinta, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Santiago beat La Quinta 43-35 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will Santiago repeat their success, or does La Quinta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
