Lithonia extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-8. They came up short against the Southwest DeKalb Panthers, falling 17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-2 two weeks ago.

Achillies Jones made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Lithonia is 2-1 when Jones posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bryson Sanders, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.
As for Southwest DeKalb, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
On Southwest DeKalb's side, Aaron Barber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Barber was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Southwest DeKalb got a massive performance out of Ethan Monday, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Monday continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Pruitt, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Coincidentally, Lithonia and Southwest DeKalb will both be playing Druid Hills the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Panthers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
