Glendora is 1-9 against Ayala since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Glendora Tartans will venture away from home to face off against the Ayala Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. Glendora's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Ayala's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Glendora is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since February 17th on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Upland 2-0. While the Tartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Aaron Jacobsen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Glendora is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Jacobsen was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other pitching news, Tanner Grable looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.
Jacobsen wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kai Zeits, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Ayala came out on top. They blew past Chino Hills 9-1 on Friday. That looming 9-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.
Isaac Huver looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dylan Wood, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Codey Brown also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Glendora has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. The win got Ayala back to even at 3-3.
Glendora might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Ayala when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Glendora avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
