The Coudersport Falcons will be playing at home against the Port Allegany Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coudersport will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Coudersport put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Brockway 55-19 on the road. Given Coudersport's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Brockway is ranked 488th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Port Allegany posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Otto-Eldred 42-39.
Port Allegany can attribute much of their success to Kayleigha Dowell, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Ella Moses, who scored 16 points along with five steals and two blocks. Moses is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Gordon, who scored six points.
Coudersport pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Port Allegany, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Coudersport came up short against Port Allegany when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 42-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moses, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
