On Saturday, Pine-Richland came up short against Peters Township and fell 55-46. Pine-Richland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Pine-Richland still got an impressive performance from Madison Zavasky, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. Zavasky scored a full 54.3% of Pine-Richland's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Mallory Boivin, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Pine-Richland's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Peters Township, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine-Richland is on the road again on Monday and play against Armstrong at 7:30 p.m. on December 4th. Peters Township will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Upper St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
