Basketball Recap: Lyons Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Lyons had won four straight games and Caleb Christiansen did his part to make it five on Friday. The Lyons Lions claimed a resounding 77-35 win over the Belleview Christian Bruins thanks in part to Christiansen, who went 13 of 19 on his way to 30 points and eight steals. The game was his tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Jake LaCrosse, who posted six points and six assists. Those six assists gave him a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Belleview Christian lost, don't look at Justus Cunningham. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points and seven boards. Isaiah Lumbreras was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lyons pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Belleview Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Lyons will head out on the road to challenge Dayspring Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyons knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Dayspring Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Belleview Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Gilpin County at 7:30 p.m. Belleview Christian is facing Gilpin County at the right time seeing as Gilpin County is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
