Thomas Jefferson walked away with a 43-30 win over Highland Tech on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Thomas Jefferson also won the last time the pair played on January 5th.
Leading Thomas Jefferson to victory were Brooklyn Twitty and Samara Jones. Twitty dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Jones scored 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Maddie Connor was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Highland Tech still got an impressive performance from Addie McCraw, who scored 15 points. McCraw's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight.
Thomas Jefferson pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Highland Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas Jefferson will stay at home for another game and welcome Pinnacle Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Pinnacle Classical Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Highland Tech won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sugar Creek at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Sugar Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while Highland Tech is ranked 279th).
