The Saugus Centurions will square off against the Paraclete Spirits at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Saugus is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
Saugus saw some tournament action on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 15-7 margin over Agoura.
Noah Garcia looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Zackery Seeley was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Haag, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Paraclete was able to grind out a solid victory over Cleveland on Friday, taking the game 11-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spirits.
Anthony Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Paraclete got a massive performance out of Armando Saucedo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Jayden Espindola was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Paraclete's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Saugus, their record now sits at 3-0.
Saugus came out on top in a nail-biter against Paraclete when the teams last played back in May of 2019, sneaking past 2-1. Will Saugus repeat their success, or does Paraclete have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
