The team relied heavily on Andrew Johnson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Peyton Papadakis was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Spanish Fork unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of West Field by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Dons, who until this game were averaging 2.9 runs allowed.
Kayden Lambson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Boston Duvall stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Trigg Cloward, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
Skyline has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-18 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Spanish Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 25-4.
Skyline came up short against Spanish Fork in their previous matchup back in March, falling 8-3. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
