Basketball Recap: Monarch Gets the Win

Monarch's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They snuck past the Nova Titans with a 50-45 victory. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 51-47 win the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Nikyle Campbell produced another solid effort going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points and eight rebounds. Isiah Phillip was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals.

Monarch was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They are 9-3 when they've passed the ball that well.

Monarch's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Nova, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Monarch won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Somerset Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 70.45 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Nova, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Plantation at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Colonels will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
