passed for 193 and two more scores as the Shamrocks ended Male's 20-game win streak with a 28-6 victory Sunday in the 6A Kentucky State 6A title game at Kroger Field in Lexington.
In 20 season as head coach, Beatty won his 14th title, this one after Trinity (13-2) loss 20-17 during the regular season to the Bulldogs (14-1).
gave Trinity all the points it needed with a 13-yard pick 6 in the first quarter, making it 7-0. The score remained that way until West added a 9-yard TD run in the third quarter and the way the Trinity defense played, this one was essentially done.
A 98-yard connection between McElroy and Ryan Miller
made it 21-6 in the fourth.

Champions in 2018 include Beechwood (1A), Christian Academy (2A), Central (3A), Franklin-Simpson (4A), South Warren (5A) and Male (6A).
