Foothill has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Red Bluff Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Foothill pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Chico by a score of 61-58. Foothill has not had much luck with Chico recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Kalli Smith put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Riley Sedlak, who scored 15 points along with two blocks.
Even though they lost, Foothill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Red Bluff's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 35-28 to Enterprise.
Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Red Bluff, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-12.
Everything came up roses for Foothill against Red Bluff in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 60-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foothill since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
