The Ramona Bulldogs lost against the Vista Panthers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Ramona was dealt a 69-28 defeat at the hands of Vista. While losing is never fun, Ramona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1125th, while Vista is ranked 69th).
Makenzy Ahlgren and Camile Gilbreth certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ahlgren scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds, while Gilbreth scored 4 points. Ahlgren scored a full 46.4% of Ramona's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ramona bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Vista, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Ramona will be playing in front of their home fans against Sage Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sage Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Vista will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against La Jolla at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
