Pine Creek is 0-3 against Pueblo County since August of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 3:30 p.m. Pine Creek will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Pueblo County's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Pine Creek hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Eagles never let Fountain-Fort Carson get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Wednesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Abigail *Abby* Stenerson made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kailani *Kai* Shideler was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Ahlanna Rymski was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Pine Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Pueblo County hadn't done well against Discovery Canyon recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Hornets walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Thunder.
Kamdyn Toussaint spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isabella Mares, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Markus, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Pine Creek's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Pueblo County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pine Creek has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .524. However, it's not like Pueblo County struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pine Creek might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Pueblo County in their previous meeting back in August of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
