After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norcom, the Maury Commodores were happy to have found some success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Oscar Smith as Maury made off with a 58-37 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Maury has posted since December 15, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maury to victory, but perhaps none more so than Arianna Owens, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Owens scored 15 or more points. Nyla Brown was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Maury's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Oscar Smith, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Maury will head out on the road to square off against Booker T. Washington at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Booker T. Washington is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Oscar Smith will take on Hickory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
