The Northview Chiefs will be taking part in a tournament against the Milton Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Northview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Northview is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 25, 2025 on Thursday. They came up short against Pace, falling 10-3. The loss continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost seven in a row.
Peyton Womack was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Daviona Randolph, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Milton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past Crestview 3-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Chloe Norman spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Milton's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Faith Cain, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Ashlyn Sutton was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Milton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crestview struck out seven times.
Milton's record now sits at 8-3. As for Northview, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Northview's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Chiefs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Milton, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Northview continue to outrun the ball?
Northview couldn't quite finish off Milton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
