Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. Las Lomas Knights

Northgate has gone 9-1 against Las Lomas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Northgate Broncos will face off against the Las Lomas Knights at 7:00 p.m. Northgate has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Thursday, Northgate strolled past Ygnacio Valley with points to spare, taking the game 61-47. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Wolves are ranked 790th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northgate's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddison Sardelich, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. Sardelich is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hana Neuman, who posted 20 points and five assists.

Northgate was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Las Lomas earned a 53-41 win over Berean Christian on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Northgate pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Las Lomas, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Northgate against Las Lomas in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northgate since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
