The Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes will challenge the Beaufort Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Coastal HomeSchool turned things around against Step of Faith Christian Academy on Tuesday. They blew past the Chargers 13-3. The Hurricanes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gabe Smith and Carson Little made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Smith tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Little pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At bat, Smith scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Little scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Little a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace Poppell, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Saul Issa, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Beaufort Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Hardeeville on Monday as Beaufort Academy made off with a 12-1 win.
Like Coastal HomeSchool, Beaufort Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Denver Jones. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Keeler Dineen was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Tobias Patel, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Coastal HomeSchool's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Beaufort Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
