If the Wilson Mules were feeling good off their 57-36 takedown of the Roosevelt Rough Riders on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wilson took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Legacy on Friday. Wilson lost against Legacy in their previous head to head back in December of 2014, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-10 score last time.
Wilson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily M, who scored 12 points. Dailyn M was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Casillas, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. The game was Casillas' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kazey Cruz, who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds.
Wilson has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Legacy, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 2-4 record.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilson will take on Carson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Carson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Legacy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Garfield at 4:00 p.m. Garfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Legacy in California (Garfield is ranked 326th, while Legacy is ranked 677th).
