Softball Recap: Mcloud Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

McLoud's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Jones Longhorns. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Makenzie Lane was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasci Schafer, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

McLoud's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Jones, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, McLoud will welcome Cushing at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jones, they will be playing at home against Casady at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
